About Casa Sereia

Casa Sereia is an authentic Canarian house, originally built by fishermen in Puerto de Mogan’s old town with a beautiful view over the harbour, village and the sea. It is fully renovated in a unique manner, creatively and colourfully while staying true to its traditional style.

It is highly flexible in its use with various rental options for up to six people, well suitable as a temporary home.

The traditional Canarian architecture with its solid walls, natural airflow and balanced daylight ensures a stable and pleasant indoor climate. Authentic details like interior steps with different heights were intentionally preserved and reflect the historic, needs-based way of building. Fitting the house into its natural mountainside location gave it its distinct layout.

To name Casa Sereia after a living being seemed natural as it has character and soul. Sereia – Portuguese for mermaid – is associated with connectedness to the sea, beauty and fantasy. These are all elements of its nature, part of its story. Choosing Portuguese reflects my roots.
